The inspiration for this garment is drawn from Elizabeth Kenny's discovery in the 1930's. She was an Australian nurse who whilst working in the bush treating a polio outbreak, ran out of medicine and discovered that prompt application of hot woollen packs relieved muscle spasms and usually kept the patient from becoming crippled. |
